All ITT Technical Institutes are owned and operated by ITT Educational Services, Inc.

On August 29th, 2016, ITT Technical Institutes stopped enrolling new students. On September 6th, 2016, ITT Technical Institute announced that it would close all of its campuses.

Most immediately, there are two basic options to choose between:

If you are currently or were recently enrolled at ITT (within 120 days of the schools closing), you may be eligible to have your federal student loans for your program at ITT discharged (this does NOT apply to private loans). Your federal loan debt will be wiped away and you will have the option of restarting your education somewhere new. Posts and updated information about how to receive a discharge can be found at the Dept of Ed's ITT announcements page.
If you wish to continue and complete your program at a different school – especially if you are close to graduating – you may be able to transfer your credits. It is important to note that transferring your credits may limit your ability to have your federal loans discharged. Closed school discharge may be an option if you enroll in a different program that does not accept your ITT credits.

Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School:

On Monday, January 30, the judge in ITT’s bankruptcy granted former ITT students’ request that they be recognized as having filed a group claim despite the trustee’s objection, and recognized the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School as students’ counsel for this initial stage of their case.
